About Our Churches

FBC CriswellThe 500 churches that comprise Dallas Baptist Association worship, learn and serve in almost every neighborhood of Dallas and Rockwall Counties--from the urban core to outlying suburbs.  Our churches are found in homes, parks, storefronts, movie theaters, and traditional church facilities.  The congregations range in size from fewer than a dozen members to several thousand.

ThHompracroppede ethnic diversity of the Dallas area is reflected in our churches.  Although most DBA congregations worship in English, on any given Sunday worship and Bible study are conducted in more than 70 languages and dialects.   During the week, DBA churches serve our neighbors by providing childcare, literacy instruction, support groups, job training, and hunger relief to thousands of our neighbors.

Dallas Baptist Association churches believe that we can share the Gospel of Jesus Christ better, in both word and deed, by working together.

churchspotlightThe Village Church Dallas Northway

One of DBA's newest congregations, The Village Church Dallas Northway, held its inaugural worship services on Sunday, September 13, 2009.  This church is the result of a merger between two congregations with a mutual calling from the Lord to reach the North Dallas community for Christ.

Northway Baptist Church has proclaimed the Word of God to its neighbors since it began in 1952.  Through this church's ministry, people came to know Christ, people were called into vocational ministry, and mission churches were started, including Prestonwood Baptist Church.

The challenges of recent years only strengthened the faith of the congregation and their desire to serve and reach their neighbors.  Earlier this year, The Village Church of Highland Village, Texas, looked to expand its ministry into Dallas.  Church leaders came to Dallas Baptist Association for advice and prayer.  The Lord led the church to approach Northway to join with them.  The congregations merged.

The church dynamically changed its ministry approach to reach young adults.  More than 2,000 people, mostly younger than 35 years of age, attended the four worship services offered on September 13.

With a new name, a new leaderhsip team headed by campus pastor Steve Hardin, and new ministries, the church moves forward.  The people at "Northway" remain faithful to their core value of reaching people for Christ.  A vision and a legacy passed from church to church and from generation to generation.
