US Census Maps

1.  Use these maps, created by The New York Times, to zoom in and see your mission field's characteristics in such topics as:

  • Race and Ethnicity
  • Income
  • Housing and Families
  • Education

Be sure to click on "View More Maps" (in blue) to see your choice of maps.

 
2.  On these additional New York Times maps, based on the 2010 Census, you can find additional information on: 
  • Change in population
  • Population density
  • Racial/ethnic distribution
  • Largest racial/ethnic groups
  • Separate maps for white, black, Hispanic and Asian populations
  • Occupied/Vacant housing units
  • "Singles" population

"Asian population surged 43 percent in the United Stated in last decade"
During the 2000 U.S. Census, Asians comprised 3.6 percent of the total American population.  Asians now account for about five percent of the nation's total population.  The Census Bureau projects that the Asian population will grow to 9.3 percent of the population by 2050.
 
The Asian population "is expected to swell as trade, business and cultural and personal ties between the USA and the Asian continent grow, and the influx of skilled labor, mainly from China and India, continues."
