Here's a Way to Serve

Furniture and Household Items Needed for Permanent Supportive Housing Projects

"Permanent supportive housing" gives homeless families the security of a home and the support of community services to help them move toward health and self-sufficiency.

The City of Dallas, Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance, the Greater Dallas Justice Revival, and numerous community and faith-based organizations are working together to meet a goal of providing 700 supportive housing units this year.  Those apartments need furniture and household items to make them truly a "home".

Items needed include: couches, coffee tables, lamps, kitchen tables, bed linens, blankets comforters, pillows, mattresses, dishes, silverware, cookware, soap, trash cans, shower curtains, hand soap, and cleaning products.  Donations should be gently used or new.  Also, cash donations are accepted.  For more information, please contact Jana Jackson, 214-319-1166.

Ministry Grants

Funds from the Gladys Moore Mission Offering are available to qualifying DBA churches to assist with the development of creative evangelism strategies, leadership devleopment, ministries, and organic churches.

A church must be a cooperating member of the association demonstrated by  an established pattern of giving and having furnished an annual report (ACP) for the previous year.  Churches are strongly urged to accept consultation and attend training to assist with the development of the project if recommended.   Churches must also agree to prepare a visual report of the project, which will be used by the association to encourage other church ministries. Other criteria may apply to specific grants.  Click on the appropriate link below:
