Rediscover the smaller way.
The primary form of church and church planting in the New Testament, throughout history, and globally has looked like intentional communities surrendered to the leadership of Jesus proclaiming and demonstrating the Kingdom of God house to house, table to table, and in simple places like street corners, parks, and alleyways.
Microchurches are not just a strategic innovation to meet the challenges of our increasingly non-christian and missionary context, but the rediscovery of something old and wired into us as the priesthood of all believers, hungry for deep fellowship with other disciples and a place in God’s mission.
Whether you’re curious about microchurches, leading a microchurch, multiplying a network, or dreaming of how your existing church can pivot to or incorporate micro, join us as we adventure into God’s future.
Friday Details
9:00a • Main Session: Closer to Jesus
In this session, our panel will explore the microchurch as a place of growing in intimacy with God; and how the practices of prayer, scripture, and other means of intimacy take on a new shape in the microchurch.
10:45a • Workshop: Alan Hirsch, MLC: ReJesus – Metanoia
What if, instead of remaining stuck in unfruitful patterns and systems, we could experience the personal, church, and organizational transformation we so desperately desire?
The answer lies in Jesus’ first words as he began his public ministry: “metanoia.” This profound concept encompasses repentance as a radical paradigm shift and reorientation, inviting us to perceive the world through God’s eyes and bringing transformation in our own lives, the organizations we lead, and the world around us.
Alan Hirsch brings together decades of experience helping countless organizational leaders to implement deep and significant change. Combining a theologically robust understanding of metanoia, along with best thinking from the social sciences, individuals and organizations will be equipped to serve courageously and effectively in a complex and uncertain world.

2:00p • Main Session: Closer to Each Other
In this session, our panel will explore the subject of kingdom collaboration, uncovering new and exciting possibilities by working together with other microchurches, agencies, and networks.
3:45p • Workshop: Jeff Vanderstelt, SOMA: Holistic Transformation through Healthy Attachment
We are not transformed primarily through new information but through healthy relational attachment to God and others. However, most of us did not experience healthy attachment in our homes growing up. As a restful we remain spiritual and relationally underdeveloped because we cannot grow in love for God and others beyond our emotional development. We need to find our way back to our hearts so that we can experience holistic transformation through loving attachment. In this workshop we will consider how our feelings are given to us by God to become aware of our needs and desires, leading us to relationally move toward God and others in attachment-based transformation.
